Warning - Product Diversion of Paul Mitchell and Bumble & bumble

Cease and desist using any Paul Mitchell or Bumble and Bumble products bought in your local drug stores such as Target, Publix, or Walmart. WHY ??????

Product diversion is the ugly side of the beauty industry. Diversion is product being sold outside of its authorized chain of distribution.

Well, you see, if you read carefully the bottles tell you the products are only guaranteed when sold by salon professionals. You wouldn't trust the bag boy to cut and style your hair, so why would you trust him to recommend the right products for your unique fabric. The point is if you don't get your hair cut at the grocery store why would you buy your products there. Not to mention your generally spending three to four dollars more buying them at the store.

It may look like the genuine product, but it's actually diverted and it could be old, stolen, counterfeit, or tampered with. Independent lab tests conducted by FOX News on bottles purchased from a variety of mass retailers and grocery stores found dangerously high levels of bacteria and other impurities that would make the user sick enough to require medical attention. EWWWWW!!!!

Please tell your friends and don't forget, Cutting Loose is a professional salon using professional products. You can find Paul Mitchell, Bumble and Bumble , Euphora and Bed Head Make Up at our salon. So stop by with ANY products or tools you dont use and we will donate them to SPARCC and give you 10% OFF any products you purchase that same day!

Cutting Loose Salon Features Work of Artist, Trey Bryan
For Beauty and Purchase

Southwest, Florida - Cutting Loose Salon owner Coral Pleas is doing more than styling hair to make Sarasota a beautiful place. The Master Designer has turned her salon into an art gallery of sorts.

Since opening, the upscale and trendy salon is exhibiting the work of local artists as a way to help them thrive. Every three months, Coral chooses another artist and gives them a large wall of the salon to display their works. The selection process is quite stringent as Coral and her team of more than 15 preview multiple pieces from each artist to ensure that the work is at the highest exposure level possible. The work selected represents all mediums from photography, to oils to sketches. The pieces are displayed for the enjoyment of the customers and staff as they are placed in eye catching areas.

The latest collection features Trey Bryan, an illustration senior at Ringling School of Art and Design. Trey has received many accolades during his years at Ringling and had the honor of presenting former President Bill Clinton with an oil painting last year. Trey uses a variety of mediums to create large, bright works featuring a variety of themes. “I love to paint big, leave a mark and be confident,” Trey said.

When asked about his work Trey said, “The idea of “quantity with quality” means a lot to me, and the habit of painting big. The harder you work at something, the more you are bound to learn from the mistakes you make. The more you paint, the more mistakes to learn from!” Coral echoed this by saying “there will not be any mistakes in the pieces that we’ve chosen for display and sale. It’s also hard for me to think that there would be mistakes in such quality pieces.”

The confidence displayed in the paintings is a parallel to what Coral and her adult children Travis and Taelor Scheuer instill in their clients by staying on the cutting edge of trends, helping them looking their very best and offering community support through great works from local artist.

Coral has more than 30 years of experience, the last 17 of which she has been a national educator and platform artists for Paul Mitchell. She teaches the latest hair trends along both in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Son, Travis is following in Coral’s footsteps. After four years as a full-time stylist, he has been tapped to teach internationally by both Paul Mitchell and Keith Chandler, President of 3-6-5 Premier Education.

Daughter, Taelor recently joined the family business after graduating from Sarasota County Technical Institute with a degree in cosmetology. She is the manager for the salon’s Afterhours shift, which features young, up-and-coming stylists that offer the same quality styles at an attainable price. Afterhours’ Blow Dries and Bellinis program assists clients in learning how to style their hair like a pro through one-on-one training. The Afterhours program operates in non-traditional times such as evenings and Saturdays to accommodate that busy executive.

Cutting Loose is a full-service salon, offering many of today’s most popular product lines, including Paul Mitchell, Bumble & Bumble and Eufora. The salon is unisex and offers hair style and color choices to match any personality. Coral sits on the board of Intercoiffure Mondial, which is an international organization of the best hairdressers and travels multiple times per year to learn new techniques to bring back for her clients. Customers will receive the white glove treatment and feel pampered and refreshed after a trip to the salon. The salon is located at 8429 Honore Avenue near the intersection of University Parkway in Sarasota. For more information, visit cuttingloose.net.

Blogging…..thoughts from CL Keratin Queen Meaghan

Hello !!

Every woman always wants the 4-1-1 and the latest and greatest ways to get quick and easy beautiful hair at home. On an average women spend a good 30 minutes every morning trying to recreate that perfect style they left the salon with. Well know you can have it every day!

I know it sounds too good to be true! It’s a sin not to want Keratin! Keratin Complex Hair Therapy is a new revolutionary semi permanent smoothing system, that infuses keratin deep into the hair cuticle eliminating up to ninety-five percent of the frizz from the hair, leaving the hair soft, shiny and luxurious.

How does it affect curly hair you ask? Good question! It doesn’t completely remove your curls but helps to loosen and calm them. So you have to option of going smooth or curled. So that one 30 min blow dry and style every morning only for it to go back to unmanageable out of control hair when you step out into humidity is transformed to a tamable 15 min salon ready style!

So go ahead, everyone needs some TLC ! Put your hair on Weight Watchers and make that big hair small and skinny.. I dare you - you know you want to! You’ll be hooked!

Keep up with the afterhours crew!

Sincerely, Keratin Queen Meaghan

Sneak Peak at the Latest and Greatest

On July 20th we had an exclusive, one of a kind class – right here at Cutting Loose Salon!!! We got our very own sneak peek of the brand new “6 Figures Collection” from John Paul Mitchell Systems.

The collection includes haircuts and colors from John Paul Mitchell Systems Team Members Linda Yodice (Artistic Director), Scott Cole (Artistic Director), Stephanie Kocielski (Artistic Director) , Robert Cromeans (Global Artistic Director), and LaDonna Dryer (Senior Associate).

LaDonna came to Sarasota to share this new information with us before she went to Signature Gathering in Las Vegas. What is that, you may ask? Signature Gathering is a weekend of learning, play, and inspiration as 3,000 hairstylists, salon owners and distributors gather together at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas for the ultimate educational experience.

LaDonna taught us the newest haircut styles and color techniques. Not only that - remember the classic perm? It's all about texture! We've learned the latest styles in waving systems and different approaches to create and soften texture. And just when we thought they couldn't be any more amazing, we've got even more new ways to use our existing Paul Mitchell ProTools that you've all come to know and love!

We are so excited to introduce the fun, fabulous new collection from John Paul Mitchell Systems to all of our guests to make their experience here at the salon that much better!

Fun in the Sun - from Yvonne at Cutting Loose

Well, it’s Summer again here in sunny Florida! I love it, and I’m sure a lot of you ladies (and gentlemen too!) are down at the Beach. Great for a tan, but it doesn’t do much for our hair, especially if you color your hair. Just like our skin needs UV protectants, our scalp and hair do too.

Paul Mitchell Color Protect Locking SprayHere at Cutting Loose, we have two products that I would highly recommend as a must for your hair care on the beach or in the sun.

Paul Mitchell Color Protect Locking Spray contains UV protecting sunflower extracts which protect the structure of the hair and help keep your color from fading. Spray on wet hair before blow drying to extend the life of your color and intensify shine, and maybe even a spritz or two before heading out into the sun to help condition and add moisture.

Eufora Illuminate Shine MistThen we have Eufora Illuminate Shine Mist, a multi-use spray. Weightless and non-greasy, it extends the life of your color (a proven part of the Eufora Color Locking System!) and contains Hazel Seed oil which moisturizes and filters damaging sun rays. Illuminate Shine Mist also has a base of pharmaceutically graded Organic Aloe Vera, and no alcohol!

Paul Mitchell Color Protect Locking Spray comes in an 8.5oz bottle for $12.50, and Eufora Illuminate Shine Mist comes in a 4.2oz bottle for $20.00. With something to fit every budget, how could you not want to protect the color you’ve invested in?

Have fun at the Beach!

Yvonne
